The academic programme is designed to stimulate
the intellectual capabilities of the student,
to encourage creativity and to produce results
in conformity with the best that she / he
is capable of without pressure or expectation
beyond their reach. The thrust is towards
‘learning is fun’.
Cooperation and collective endeavour, rather
than individualistic competition is encouraged.
The academic curriculum follows
the broad guidelines set by the NCERT and
the students will appear for Secondary and
Senior
Secondary Examinations held by the Central
Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
The medium of instruction
is English.
Pre–school
(Nursery and K.G.)
A place
where toddlers can discover the fascinating
world of fun and friends, the pre-school
at The Srijan School lays the foundation
for a lifetime of self learning and
related skills. |
|
A
wide range of activities like drawing,
colouring, cutting tearing, pasting,
plasticine and clay work, music and
singing, dance, story telling, dramatics
and puppetry are introduced to children
to facilitate learning through the play-way
method. |
Junior
School (Grade I to Grade V)
The
focus in the primary classes is on learning
through experience. Applicable to both,
academic as well as co-curricular activities
during primary school, learning through
experience is achieved through |
|
exposure
to many activities. Development of the
child’s scientific temper, evolution
of a questioning, inquisitive mind,
self expression and communication, self
confidence along with spatial and motor
skills will be honed and transacted
through the curriculum. |
Middle
School (Grade VI to Grade VIII)
The methodology followed
during these formative years will be
an extension of the one utilized in
the primary classes. Again, acquisition
of knowledge will be achieved through
questioning, dialogue, |
|
experimentation and exposure to various
media.
Ample opportunities will be provided
to the children to interact with each
other within the student community,
on the same platform, through encouraged
participation in various intra and
inter school activities.
A third language is introduced to
the students at this stage. Academic
teaching incorporates an activity
and experimental based programme whether
in Sciences or Mathematics. Evaluation
during these years will be more comprehensive
and detailed, based on a grading system
aimed at steering the students towards
the mainstream.
|
Senior
School (Grade IX to Grade XII)
The
secondary and senior secondary classes
will follow the CBSE prescribed curriculum
for their external examination, following
the broad guidelines set by the NCERT.
|
|
Weightage for internal assessment
have now been introduced in nearly
all subjects thus supporting our process
of continuous evaluation.
Students will be provided career
guidance to help them recognize their
areas of interest and help them make
an informed decision.
Along with the academics programme
students will be a part of the social
awareness and community support programmes
to help them towards recognizing their
responsibility to society.
|
Evaluation
The process of assessment
and evaluation is a continuous one
and we do not have examinations till
class IX. The process of
continuous and comprehensive evaluation
aims at reducing pressure and stress
on students and simultaneously enhancing
skills in communication, reasoning
and concept understanding. A grading
pattern is followed and we do not
subscribe to a ranking system.
The school academic year is divided
into two terms April to October and
November to March. A comprehensive
report card is given out at the end
of each term for each student which
not only reflects the academic progress
but also the social and emotional
development.

Computer
Education
With
a well equipped computer laboratory,
hands- on computer education in The
Srijan School is an integral part of
the curriculum
and begins from Nursery with a hands-on
approach. |
|
Computer–aided teaching and
learning in academic subjects is encouraged
and our subject teachers prepare their
own presentations.
We are also associated with NIIT
and teachers and students from Nursery
onwards are introduced to the computer
curriculum designed by the NIIT.
Internet access has been provided
in our computer lab for helping students
research for their project work.
